Volume control on videos.
I'd like to suggest to implement a persistent volume controll for the videos on product pages. Right now I had to mute the whole Steam client (which with the voice chat is really counter-productive), because each time I rewind/fast-forward a video, change fullscreen or pause/unpause, the Steam client automatically resets the loudness.

It's been like this for years. At least give us the possibility to mute only videos.

that thing?

the volume slider setting is saved, at least for the session. doing anything with the video does not reset it.

Weird - it does not save on my machines (win10/manjaro). I just checked: muted>unpaused>unmuted
muted>fullscreen>unmuted
muted>rewind>unmuted

so "changing the loudness" = un/mute.
might wanna mention that more clearly.

yes, that is as you said it.

instead of using the un/mute button, put the volume slider to zero.

"The car door is broken" "You can still get in through the trunk".

interactions also do not "reset the volume" to some arbitrary level, it simply toggles mute. volume stays where it was.

This is the worst "feature" of steam client. Who thought that you wanted to automatically un-mute every time you jump forward in a video? I rarely bother watching videos on steam because of this stupid feature. Maybe they lose potential sales because of it? Who knows? I don't really open a browser just to watch trailers for random games, and I never buy a game without watching at least game play trailers, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I just tested this. Muted the video with the Steam volume control, then started to jump to different parts of it. It did not unmute itself in any of these. I went to another game to check some other videos and the volume control has remembered that it should be on mute. So I tested to skip ahead in some videos on it too and it didn't unmute itself.

You're right, but jumping through other videos in the same game page did, in fact, change from muted to unmuted.

Still, great that it is getting fixed :D

this ♥♥♥♥ has been a nightmare for years. youtube always remembers my volume but steam doesn't. One day I accidentally clicked on discovery queue and the autoplay next video was on and a trailer of a war game came on in full volume and literally made me spill my cereal all over the keyboard. Its giving me PTSD
