STEAM CHAT - TOGGLE MUTE/DEAFEN HOTKEYS

First of all I know the "Push to mute" feature already exists. This topic is about the addition of hotkeys to allow users to toggle mute (i.e. hit the hotkey and mute is active until the button is pressed again) and deafen all sounds. This is a desperately needed feature. Discord has this feature, as does teamspeak. It should have been there from day 1, muting yourself without holding a button down is a basic thing.

Please Valve, let me uninstall Discord.

I thought there was a hotkey for this, but if there's not, then I think it's a great to add a hotkey to do so.

Currently the new Steam chat only allows hotkeys for "Push to mute" and "Push to talk". As stated in the OP, toggle mute (and defean) is a much more useful feature than push to mute because you don't have to hold the button down.

You're right, I just hop on to check in the Steam settings. So i'm assumming that your wish will come true soon enough for the live side.

You're right, that is my fault, not sure why they add PTM like that to do the opposite of PTT.

For muting urself there is a hotkey for this. You can use OPEN MIC and setting a hotkey.
Thats what myself and others on the Steam Voice do.

But sometimes theres a conversation which you have with viewers on stream where you want to deafen / fullmute yourself and the others which are in the call. But there is no feature or Hotkey for this.

I hope Steam will add this soon as possible because Discord, ElementIO, TeamSpeak and all the other programms like Skype (who use this lol) or MS Teams or XBox has this too. Feels bad for such a useful tool that it doesn't have it.
