Valve- please stop hijacking my right side scroll bar in the client...

Annoying, any time I mouse over the scroll bar on the right side of my client window, my mouse gets hijacked, the scroll bar gets hijacked, and my screen scrolls up and down, somewhat randomly and in a lerky fashion. Really annoying, since that is where my cursor is set to park itself, to the right of my screen.

For the love of pete, I didn;t ask for the update, but I can live with or ignore most of it. But having my screen jump up and down because I used the scroll bar 5 minutes ago, or accidentally had my cursor wander over it... no. I cannot ignore that.

Suggestion: Fix it.

Yeah... It is a bug with the UI. I started getting that a few weeks ago.

Just started happening for me after the stable client update. Mostly Store pages, screenshots or artwork in Community hubs, or my own profile... anything that loads more *anything* below the page bottom when scrolling down. Once it has control of the scrollbar, Steam will not let go without emptying web browser cache, and relaoding (reconnecting), sometimes needing to exit Steam Client and relaunch. And yeah... it is somewhat random when it decides to grab it and not let go.

Yeah... The bugs are now on both branches. I've seen many that have yet to be fixed since the beta was released on June 12th.

My scrollbar is fubar, all sticky and ♥♥♥♥!

its partly due to the way the store page loads
scroll to the bottom it adds more crap and page changes length, so the bar gets altered to match its locatin/size

workaround is to use u-scroll (wheel button) and wheel, avoiding using the scrollbar

or when its acting wierd, click above/below the bar location, to force a single page scroll

Yeah, I think most of us know the work-arounds. It is still annoying af, the workarounds are not second-nature, like grabbing a scroll bar to scroll a page is, and ... it needs to be fixed.

took 2 seconds to reproduce it and it is not random.

pointer on scrollbar -> mouse1down -> pointer leaves client window -> mouse1up
now the scrollbar will move to the pointer position if it gets over the scrollbar.

manual fix: produce an mouse1up event on the scrollbar aka click it.

I have waited and waited thinking it eventually will be fixed but nope. Now I am sick and tired of it.

It only happens to me when I hold the mouse left mouse button on the scroll bar and move the mouse pointer outside the Steam client window.

So a little reminder, don't get nervous when moving the mouse pointer. :D

Or stick to mouse Scroll wheel or if you feel inclined use the Page up and Page Down keys
