Spell check...
Option to turn it off, please.

:qr:

Edit: Chat now has the option to turn it off. 1/2 way there.

ADDED ---> Edit2: Maybe a suggestions list too?

Edit3: Maybe try this?

In case (some of) you missed, try the workaround posted above. Still works fine for me.

"above"

this thread got merged many times, and the workaround got lost :steamsad:

Here is the working solution to disable that spell check.
> Close Steam client
> Find C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Steam\htmlcache\UserPrefs.json
> Open the file "UserPrefs.json" with Notepad or any other text editor.
> Find the line "dictionaries":["hr"]" - where hr/de/en is the certain language.
> Delete those letters "hr" / "de" so it looks like this: "dictionaries":[""]
> Save the file and start your Steam again.

I just tried and it really works. No more red lines.

I have no clue. But I don't want every link or almost every emoticon to be underlined.

Started after yesterday's beta update. So something changed.

You can still turn it off. Either via the browser itself or at all.
Like Steam does for ages now. When they released it last time, they apparently forgot to de-activate it in their new build. Even after being called out multiple times during beta ...

I'm talking just about the client though.

You are asking Valve to implement options. HERESY!!! Either all get it or no one. :steammocking:

Yes!

Group events and announcements toggle was added back to the settings a couple weeks ago...

It is underlining everything in other languages. Just quoted a Turkish post and saw everything red...

So, the same issue that it was removed for previously...

Yeah...

I regret updating the client now. Everything that isn't in german is now underlined.
It's like Discords spellcheck just without an option to turn it off.
cSg|mc-Hotsauce Jan 17, 2019 @ 9:59am
Is it in the release version or is it just the beta?
