Quoting in comments doesn't work?

Quoting does not work in comments.

Use @COPY/PASTE NAME.

But there is a button that says "Formatting help" that appears after I write a character in the text box. It pops up a cheat sheet that claims that quoting is allowed. Is this not a bug?

That is there for everything you post. It only works here, profile info boxes, guides...

For me at least, the "formatting help" box displays a more limited set of tags when you're making a profile comment, with quote not being in there. So at least they're accurately describing the functionality in both places, I guess.

on review comments the formatting help button wrongly displays the formatting help for reviews.

So it IS a bug. The profile comment formatting help should probably also be the review comments formatting help.

I found the solution if anyone else comes by this thread. At the top of the thread/page, if it says 'read more' and then had a hyperlink to the full steam thread page, click that. It will open the full view of the thread and from there the 'quote' button works.

Even though the quote button was in the container window of the thread preview, it doesn't work from there.
