That's exactly what I'm trying to say. When I got into the link you sent, I saw a lot of recording software, but it cost money.
What I suggest is that Steam open an update where it is possible to record any game in Steam.
All free.
Steam already has the most complex bit—capturing and encoding the video—in order to enable in-home streaming and broadcasts. Dumping the video to disk rather than sending it over the network is an extremely conservative extension.
And its not really hard to use
The first result in that link literally says free game recorder - bandicam.
Again, the very first result that shows there is for free recording software amongst others listed.
Also do you think, that you SHOUDN'T have to pay for software, that people spent lots of time and m ney making?
Business licenses, more advanced versions or support services for example. Or inclusion of adverts.
There are also donations and sponsors which get paid with good PR.
