Let us change our Steam IDs
I have some random ID from back when I was teenager and it bothers me.

Let me change it or at least use email adress instead.

SteamID is a unique identifier. It is actually a specific thing created for the account (ID1/2/3).

The LOGIN name is what you want changed, and will not happen due to absurdly high costs associated with changing all of Valve's backend.

Then let me login with my email as alternative and stop displaying my name in the top right corner.

Login with email has a problem, that problem being emails are not unique to accounts. You could have 20 accounts all tied to the same email address.

Steam stopped showing the login name several builds ago. It shows the custom name you're using instead.

not gonna happen.

How come you could have many accounts tied to the same email? Most online services I used cant be connected to more than one email adress.

It still shows my login in the right corner when I am in browser.

They already made it so that it shows your profile name in the top right corner instead of username. Of course you do still have to remmber not to click up there as it does show the username on the dropdown menu next to the log out of account option.

Valve allows you to have multiple Steam accounts with the same E-mail tied to the accounts.

Therefore, your second suggestion has a gaping hole in it.

Steam 64 IDs are permanent UIDs (Unique Identifiers).

They are assigned to an account upon creation.

Custom URLs are interim and simply cosmetic.

With a DYNAMIC Steam 64 ID, accounts will have NO permanent identifier - except the account name.

Now, the account name is only known by the user.

Can you open your eyes and see the other MASSIVE gaping security hole here?

Scammers and spammer are happy for your suggestion.

Hint: Neither Valve nor their users are happy about that.
