People use Enhanced Steam because it's so much better than the client for anything that isn't managing games or chatting with friends.
Steam is working as intended.....
Indeed, it's not Steam that needs to be "fixed"..
It’s not broken though, working as intended. New laws and ESRB guidelines require this change.
Also Steam won't let you save the date of birth info due to legal reasons. Or GDPR reasons. Either way it won't be reversed.
if they have an age verification , they cant get into legal trouble , like you are an 20 year old gamer with a 5 year old brother who uses your pc , then looks up a game and gets scared so hard he *** his pants and gets traumatized ( and has to go to therapy for the rest of his life)
no matter how mad your parents might get , steam cant be sued , they asked about the age , and your little brother lied about it , they arent responsible if he doesnt enter his correct age
sure its annoying , and i have been looking at 18+ games since i was 16 , but theres no perfect solution , just quickly say your birthday is january 1st of whatever year that makes you atleast 18 years old and done takes just a few seconds to select the right year , and yet valve still has a protection against idiots who would be all
"my 5 year old son was left unattended at a pc for 14 days , and now he bought horror games with my credit card i as a responsible parent gave him full access to buy games with , and now he wets his bed at night and gets nightmares , im sueing Steam for 90 Billion USD because they didnt babysit my son for me "
steam just needs to reply with " we have an age verifaction , if he lies about it ( multiple times ) its not our problem"
Other than that, in the USA there is no law requiring verification of DOB to view any content permitted on the Steam platform.
You don't seem to understand what the ESRB is ...
