The only other thing would be to make the grid view and the community stuff collapsable almost entirely.
1.2GB of images on my SSD, 16,000 image files. (librarycache folder)
non-intuitive game details layout
LowBandwidth & Low-Performance modes dont do squat
well thankfully it does disable the horrible SCROLLBAR hiding
STREAMOVERLAY BROKEN
no fps, no screenshots, nothing. BROKEN.
But that's hardly surprising, since Steam has been feeding it's "users" metrics to Google for years now. Funny whenever I mentioned it prior to the GDPR disclosure a common reaction was "tinfoilhat lel."
I guess previous Steam version wasn't pulling enough of them sweet, sweet hardware/software fingerprints, heh.
(I personally think that people will get used to the new interface.) I'd like to be useful and provide concrete feedback about technical issues. Here it goes.
1. I have "tearing" and client failing to draw graphics in (black rectangles) in the library list OR in the content window after clicking out of any Store page. Example screenshots:

https://yadi.sk/i/7KlFZoaTSEbtFA
https://yadi.sk/i/6VKNgmWPW6-zbA (yes, this is Library view, which amost completely failed to draw)
2. The fade-in feature for mini-icons in the library list does not feel very good. It doesn't serve a purpose and creates visual clutter and delays. This is not loading process, since these are definitely local and keep "fading in" no matter how many times you scroll the library list. Also as a result, when quick scrolling, you can make the mini-icons disappear. Example screenshot:

3. The scrolling of the new library list is smoothed, which introduces significant lag into it. When your library is over 300 titles like mine, it makes the process of using it significantly worse. It sounds like a minor thing, but it feels very unpleasant, since before it was instant and responsive. Together with waiting for the list to draw itself, and waiting for icons to resolve, the experience is not good.
4. The new library list feels much less readable visually / typographically than the old one. I suspect it's due to line spacing and font size / width. Category headlines also blend visually with the game titles, they are hard to spot instantly unlike before.
5. The automatic category placing VR titles in their own category at the end (regardless of their presence in other categories) is gone. I thought it was a very useful feature, since I cannot always remember which exact games are VR-compatible in my library. Going through all 300 when I get the chance to use a VR headset is going to be a nightmare. Even if sorting by VR is possible using search, it's not optimal. Besides, there are sorting filters for videos and tools. There should be a filter for VR, then, in my opinion.
Thank you.
It's not about you. It's about peer-pressuring engagement out of you.
It's a disgusting UX dark pattern that Valve borrowed from social media platforms.
Yet another request for 'give us the option instead of telling us we have to deal with someone else's choices'

Pretty much what i do not understand about this kinda choices. It is 2019, what do companies not understand about customization options?
90% of the complains would be gone if the new ui would come with the design it does but fully customizable, in size, layout etc.
Sure the performance issues remain but this can be fixed... the design issue are a core issue that are not as "easy" to fix.
