Good luck. Then you'll see why it won't happen soon.
Valve can't even get spell check to work right. Huge companies like google who have dedicated teams 10 times the size of Valve working on translation stuff... and they still can't get it right.
And you would expect them to do it for the 100+ different languages, and countless dialects.
While it's not perfect, google translate is a lot better than nothing. I usually have no problems understanding translated text. Things doesn't have to be perfect to be worth while.
More convenient than having to copy/paste text to google translate.
Even they have huge difficulties with Asian and even Turkish languages.
And no one wants extra bloat.
Most languages work very well, so having problems with some doesn't make the tech useless.
It's not bloat if it's useful.

Try them on google translate. I think you will find most english speakers can understand the results with no problems.
"Ich glaub mein Schwein pfeift, da wird der Hund in der Pfanne verrückt. Das ist eine Schweinerei"
Your first example is a written down version of spoken Rheinish dialect. How often do you encounter that on the forums? Is it even accepted as proper German in your schools, so you could write your homework like that?
Your second example is some type of German word pun, which again I question if you encounter often here on the forums?
No, you will not use google translate to translate poetry, It's not what it's for, but If you read posts here on the forums you will find language to be much less complex. People write words and sentences straight forward, without clever double meanings.
Are you serious that you think a translation function is useless if it cant handle absolutely everything without error? That's a mindset I really can't understand.
But yes, Google translate don't like that text.
Did you seriously just ask how often word plays and puns and idioms are used on forums then went on to say people don't act all pompous, wise, or witty?
Umiram.
you just think that because you can use google translate for free, that it being implemented on Steam would be also free, it isn't free. it costs a crapton of money. that is why this is unlikely to happen.
