The answer is, they're looking into it.
https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/pricing/currencies
When/if it gets added, remember that prices are set by the devs/pubs and if no price is set, you'll be unable to purchase the title until they do.
And no, you don't need to see prices on Steam in other currencies. Use https://steamdb.info/ if you want to view prices in other currencies. Why not? Because it is not relevant. And Devs/pubs set the prices for all their titles on Steam.
1. displaying you the other prices would be illegal in the EU
2. displaying you currency converted prices would cause confusion because that 50€ game would not cost $50 like it does on Steam where USD price is applicable.
there are 3rd party browser addons[es.isthereanydeal.com] that do what you suggest, use those on your own terms.
regarding the currency itself and why it is not supported yet:
sweden is unstable. not the currency, but the future of swedens role in the EU. might be a reason Valve has not introduced it yet.
But failed to read the other post as to why Valve could be held legally liable for showing you that info...?
The unstable countries are the ones who decided to use EURO. I for one is really happy we didn't use that currency. It is still stupid to show a currency a country don't use.
I didn't say you were wrong, and I understand they can't do it. But you said it's not relevant, and I replied it is to me. Not trying to pick a fight.
also ... quite simply.
times 10 ± 1. has not changed that much with that thumb rule over the last 10 years. i just know that my swedish money that i converted in 2013 is now worth a third less because the country went downhill since then.
Its not relevant to you because you're not paying that price
It would be like steam listing every single currency possible on the site and then goign "oh wait sorry yeah you can only use X but here is list of literally 40 other things that have no bearing on you at all"
Why do people keep saying its not relevant to me? If I have a conversation about some items in the store, it would be easier and not hard to add so I can view the price in my own country's currency and the most common.
Swedes should have the right to their own currency: SEK.
Valve has not set up currency for all countries, they eventually get to do it, as long they're able to find providers such as credit card companies, bank transfer, that willing to work with them, as well with the legal system for the said country, and that's not just all either.
