Swedish steam store views prices in EURO. We use SEK
It's very annoying to have to calculate the currency when purchasing something. We don't use EURO, we use SEK (Swedish Kroner). This needs to be fixed. You should also be able to view from any country what it costs in the most common currency, like pound, euro and dollar.

Thanks

Valve talks about adding currencies and other payment options here. Some where after 35:00. They just use Russia as the example...

The answer is, they're looking into it.

We also recommend a discounted USD price for several South Asian countries where we don't have local pricing. This is presented as "SASIA-USD" in the pricing tools. These countries are: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

When/if it gets added, remember that prices are set by the devs/pubs and if no price is set, you'll be unable to purchase the title until they do.

And no, you don't need to see prices on Steam in other currencies. Use https://steamdb.info/ if you want to view prices in other currencies. Why not? Because it is not relevant. And Devs/pubs set the prices for all their titles on Steam.

you do not need to see prices in other currencies because prices on Steam are not currency converted, they are set for each available currency.

1. displaying you the other prices would be illegal in the EU
2. displaying you currency converted prices would cause confusion because that 50€ game would not cost $50 like it does on Steam where USD price is applicable.

there are 3rd party browser addons[es.isthereanydeal.com] that do what you suggest, use those on your own terms.

regarding the currency itself and why it is not supported yet:
sweden is unstable. not the currency, but the future of swedens role in the EU. might be a reason Valve has not introduced it yet.

Thanks a lot for the information to start off with. But in reply to relevancy: It is relevant to me.

But failed to read the other post as to why Valve could be held legally liable for showing you that info...?

The unstable countries are the ones who decided to use EURO. I for one is really happy we didn't use that currency. It is still stupid to show a currency a country don't use.

I didn't say you were wrong, and I understand they can't do it. But you said it's not relevant, and I replied it is to me. Not trying to pick a fight.

I have a less problem with not viewing the prices in different currencies, then I have with the prices not showing the currency we use. It's irellevant for me to see the prices in EURO, as I have no clue how much it is.

You should learn to get accustomed to judging a game's price in euros then in the mean time. There's always something called Google if you ever needed to find the currency exchange rate.

why do you have no clue? everytime i was in sweden everyone was happy to accept euro. seems like at least the gastronomy and event scene knows what the euro is worth. i didn't even bother converting sometimes.

also ... quite simply.
times 10 ± 1. has not changed that much with that thumb rule over the last 10 years. i just know that my swedish money that i converted in 2013 is now worth a third less because the country went downhill since then.

No point in really commenting anymore. I'd like to view the store in my country's currency. I dont really care if they accepted Euro, which they should since they are in the EU union. It doesn't mean that the people living here use it

as said, that is not gonna happen until your currency is natively introduced into Steam, until then, you have no other choice then to deal with Euro on Steam.

Its not relevant to you because you're not paying that price

It would be like steam listing every single currency possible on the site and then goign "oh wait sorry yeah you can only use X but here is list of literally 40 other things that have no bearing on you at all"

Why do people keep saying its not relevant to me? If I have a conversation about some items in the store, it would be easier and not hard to add so I can view the price in my own country's currency and the most common.

Currency for Sweden! (SEK)
It's really stupid that Swedes are forced to use a currency we're not actually using!
Swedes should have the right to their own currency: SEK.

Why posting here? Should be posting in the idea and suggestion sub forum.

Valve has not set up currency for all countries, they eventually get to do it, as long they're able to find providers such as credit card companies, bank transfer, that willing to work with them, as well with the legal system for the said country, and that's not just all either.
