Also there's never a reason to use the strandard VGA drivers beyond not having installed the proper drivers for your card or onboard chipset. Inbstall the proper drivers for your chipset and you'll be okay.
Reading is fundamental! :)
I'm not worried about onboard chipset drivers because I only have to last a week or so until the new GPU arrives. I still feel it would be beneficial to have such a list (or at least compile some links together) in one place. Tried to do an internet search for them (via DDG and Google) and nothing really helped out. All the 'low spec' lists tend to be MMOs instead of just standalone games.
You're running on onboard graphics and can play whatever game the chipset can handle. The problems you have run into with your two examples is probably the lack of DirectX support.
Yeah and until you install actual drivers you won't be able to do much than maybe fl;ash based games. The Standard Driver is a basic catch all windows uses when you haven't actually installed a driver. It's made to be basic, bare bones and most of all temporary.
Because no such lists actually exists. If it's not ba game runn ing ina flash wrapper, it's likely requiring some features and APIs that the stadard VGA driver simply does not have.
Your solution is simple. Just install the chipset drivers for your Mobo's onboard gfx. God to the manufacturers website, type in the model number and download the drivers they give you. It'll take you 5 minutes tops.
Or you can continue complaining about your self inflicted problem for the next week or so.
Installing manufacturer's drivers did nothing. Still shows 'VGA Compatible Driver'. Can't be bothered to waste more time with this when an Epic Fantasy awaits me.
If anyone else happens to be in the same boat just play that game series until you get a decent GPU or a decent-quality mobile device for Android games.
