Install multiple games at onnce

I mean it let's you install multimple games at once when you purchase them am I just not realizing how it could be done? It wouldn't be that hard, I think, to maybe let you highlight a few in a row in the list right click and install? I know I would use that if it were available, or if it already exists.

You can already. Highlight multiple games and click install.

Depends on what you mean. You can have several downloads on hold, but there will only one game be downloaded at a time.

OK, How? It won't let me click and drag, nor hold shift and use the arrow keys... Am I missing something obvious?

You cannot install multiple anything on a PC. While installing you write into registry, %TEMP% and %APPDATA% for most local installations as well as the disc in general. Different threads would block themselves thanks to read/write-locks.
There'S also a big problem with shared dependencies, although not so much for Steam.

And yeah I know they only download 1 at a time I meant as far as selecting and starting multiple installs.

Not like it will take less time doing several at one time or one at a time. The same amount is going to be transfered at the same speed reguardless.

And if this is it, then it already does. When ever I make a purchase, it says install at the end and it installs all adds all those game to the que at one time.

For those already in your library, you can use Ctrl and click to select multiple games or ♥♥♥♥ and click to select blocks of games at a time, then add them to the download que.

So hold Ctrl and click on each title you want, then right click a highlighted one and click install.

Shift click a game then another a few spaces away and everything between will be highlighted, then right click and install.

Yeah I meant for selecting and installing in the steam client.

Yes, then go to your library, highlight multiple games either using ctrl or shift, right click and select install as spawn of totoro indicated as well.

The only time you can download multiple Games at the same time is when your on a website or a Web Browser, they download at the same time...

But Installing has always been one at a time...

I think STEAM does it just fine...

There is nothing wrong with the way STEAM does it...

Maybe i'm wrong with all this, but i'm pretty possitive...


Don't ruin the way STEAM works with Downloads & Installs, ~_~

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. As MISOKA and Spawn of Totoro pointed out the problem was me lol. Just a different mechanic than I am used to for multiple selections. Thanks again!
