my DOTA 2 ping is too high

i don't understand why my currently ping is always 1000ms. with 30%+ PL i can't do anything last ly i already ruined my game twice today please if anyone could help thank you

Do the http://pingtest.net/ and choose the region which is for you're country.

No difference, I've been having the same issue. I'm from Australia and I've tried both US West and Australian server I too have massive lag issues on both servers to the point where I cannot play anymore.

My usual ping on US West is around 170ms and at some point during the game it shoots up to 1000ms for around 5+ mins and then it fluctuates between 170ms - 600ms

On the Aussie server my ping is around 10-20ms and the same thing happens i have massive lag issues but when I check ping it's around the same and no PL.

I've only started having these issues after the holidays

getting latency can point out to alot of different things, like, are you playing wireless??? try a cable
did you already reset ur router ??? turn it off and on
are you playing with other people on the same connection ???? perhaps theyre pr0n fanboi's ? :3


i read alot about that aussie players can play with a ping less than 200, if read that the SEA servers have gotten really better lately , latency wise, but since im from europe i cant test it ......

Its a bummer that u cant play normally, but ive read too that valve is aiming at everrone having <50ms for tournaments, since the africans have trouble too, i guess you will have to wait, if all other options arent fixable, and if other games dont give any trouble....

50ms sounds good, i cant even hit that on eu west (from finland) and i have superb connection (pingtest 1ms jitter 1ms)

ye try eu east :D , imma from holland, so i bet the server is in like germany, or even amsterdam, like alot of servers....... <--- 30ms and less normally, but mine is jumping too sometimes from the 30 to 60, and i think its on their side .... not that i have a problem wit hit, but its highly remarkable.....

But 200ms, constant, ok, still high, but its normal, but jumping from 150 to 1000ms and back, isnt normal, and there hsould be something wrong.....
