Dota 2

An error occurred while updating Dota 2 (disk write error)
Anyone getting this new error after the most recent patch?
Weird thing is, this only applies for this game and not the others. So i'm sure there is nothing wrong with my computer. Any help?

Thanks!

I have the same problem, the support link the error provides also leads to the wrong error fix: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8676-EFLX-7453&l=english

Fixed this problem by running steam with administrator rights, seems to be a windows issue.

I have the same problem for the most recent update. First make sure your update has been paused and go to your steam folder then steamapps > downloading. Delete all data associated with 570 and also any state_570_###. Restart your update with Dota2 and hopefully it works.

Guys I tried both deleting the 570. files except the 3.2 gb 570. folder and tried the admin start up too and both fixes failed. What do I do

have this problem with a lot of my games. when i check the "local files" tab within properties steam shows a worng harddrive for the game....
(all my games are on drive E (C is a SSD with nothing than WIN8 - even steam is on E)
deleting the blob-files changed nothing, starting as admin changed nothing... i know one solution that will work... don´t like to delete the games and redownload...

looks like this error occurs when low on HD space as well.

Hello! I had this problem as well, with now clear lead to what was the reason.
However i came up with a quick solution that did for me:

///Solution////
I went to my steam/SteamApps/common folder and cut the folder from the game i had problem updating.
After that i started again steam to verify it was marked as not downloaded.
Then i shutdown steam again and got the folder back.
After that the update started correctly (With a few pauses wich needed a "Resume Updating" click)

I did the whole thing with steam as Admin.

Hope it works! Happy gaming!

Guys, i seem to have found another solution:

You can go to your Steam/SteanApps folder and Delete/Cut the "dowloading" folder and it will re-download the update (probably a currupt file in the previous download)

Similar way of fixing it for myself with Skyrim was to move the steam\steamapps\common\skyrim folder to another location THEN delete local content by right clicking on the game in steam. Move the folder back and click install. It will then check the directory for files you already have, possibly download any that are missing or corrupted and let u play!!!
GUYS I FOUND A SOLUTION!
DELETE/CUT the "downloading" folder
steam\steamapps\downloading
then start the game again
hope it worked
