DotA 2 lag/(low FPS?) and delay

Hi there,

I just installed DotA 2 but I have have some serious lag. Actually am I not quite sure that it is lag, maybe is it just very few frames per second. But I'm a sure about that I got delay and all these things together makes it impossible for me to play.

I don't have any of these problems when I play DotA in Warcraft..

I have just restored my computer to factory settings, so I should have enough space. I use cabel for my internet and yes, I do deactivate the wireless connection while I'm using the cable.

Please help me if there is something I can do.

Computer model: eMachines E527
Computer type: x64-based PC
Processor: Celeron(R) Dual-Core CPU T3300 @ 2.00 GHz, 1995 Mhz
RAM: 3.00 GB

This is almost certainly due to your low-spec laptop. It was not suitable for gaming when it was released 3 years ago, and it certainly is not suitable today.

Thank you for the help so far. I have updated my windows as much as I can. (It doesn't show any options besides an IE update, when I search for new updates).

GRAPHICS
I have downloaded the program (Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver, Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (exe)) from intel.com, but when I run it and the installing end, I get this error:

"The driver that is installing, is not validated to this computer. Obtain the relevant driver from the computer manufacturer
The installationprogram closes"

I have installed without any issues, so I guess it has been install correctly.

Specifically, this is the GMA driver you should be downloading:

Don't expect it to make much of a difference though. Not sure that Fred realises how much of a performance gap there is between his Intel HD 3000 and your GMA 4500. Also, the video he posted is being done on a much more capable system than yours (Pentium dual-core for a desktop, compared to your laptop Celeron).

This means the display driver is locked to the OEM, you would need to get it from the manufacturers support site rather than from Intel. Likely they stopped updating it years ago, if they ever did. Another thing you can try is configuring Windows Update to check for hardware updates as well as OS updates, but it may have been doing that all along in which case you would have the latest driver available anyway.

Isn't there anything I can do, besides buying a new computer? I really want to play.

There is nothing you can do. The Intel GMA falls waaaaay below the minimum specs required to play the game, so I am surprised it even runs at all.
(Minimum is GeForce 6600, which scores about 40% better in benchmarks than the GMA 4500)

No idea what could possibly be wrong. I've played all kinds of games on this thing and everything works fine, but Dota2 seems to stutter and lag all over the place, even at the very lowest possible settings.

how did you switch your graphic card?
