Anyway, the most common way is to remove the VDF install script from the game directory.
If yes, it is kinda safe to delete the files. The names are something like installscript.vdf

It seems pretty clear he's got a disc failure starting up.
OP, I'd recommend you do two things to make sure.
(1) Check the manufacturer of your hard drive's website. There should be an in-depth diagnostic checker (better than a generic one) that should give you a clear indication of the state of your drive.
(2) IMMEDIATELY backup any data you don't want to lose - the problem is ONLY going to get worse.
If you need to backup game saves, I recommend saving you a lot of trouble hunting down where they are by simply installling GameSaveManager and letting that do the job for you.
