Steam wallet is so...stupid !!!

Hi guys,
For over a year i am in China, when i want to buy a product i have several issues :
- since there is not the yuan currency i can't buy something without paying extra convertion fees...
- i am french, and my steam wallet is in euro, but i can't use it because steam does not do the conversion itself !
- as i am using a VPN (otherwise too many games are not available in Chine), and i was connected on a german one so i can use my wallet in euro....for steam euros in Germany and in France are not the same!!! So i can't use my wallet in euros in another european coutry. What a joke !

So use a French VPN. HMA is great for this.

VPN are often not working in China, even the german VPN can not work more than 10mn in a row before getting disconnected.
HMA --> hide my ass right ? i have already paid for astrill not working really well where i am living, so i do not want to pay again...

If you contact support and explain you are living in China temporarily, they may be able to open the French store for you.

I would not suggest using a VPN to make purchases as using a VPN is against the SSA and could lead to an account getting locked.

Yes on HMA. I didn't realize this was a violation, in which case I'd heed Spawn of Totoro's advice.

What you could also do is buy a Steam Wallet card on Taobao. Prices are often better than if you had actual dollars that way. You can cross the border and do your game purchasing in Hong Kong after that, like I do (Or use a VPN if you're okay with violating the TOS).

Yeah but i don't really have the choice since living a china without using a VPN is a pain in the ass, everything is being blocked (even Gmail, hotmail and outlook), i only disable it when playing online. And i can't even have access to market page of some of my favourite games (Total war games are not available there).

You are not making the rules anyway ^^ I just sent a message to steam support.

Rodrigo : But if i do that the money will be added to my current wallet no ? So dollars mixed with euros, i don't really what will be the result (i am also quite far from Hong Kong, so i cannot go there so easily)
