Paypal account
Hey guys I just bought a game via Paypal and somehow Steam doesn't redirect me to Paypal site. What more important is, the payment was successful without me having login to Paypal ! Yes I know Steam does remember my Paypal account informations but you are suppose to login to paypal and "pay". That scare me a bit because other people/kids might missclick and....... Back then you are suppose to login to your Paypal- account even Steam saved your informations. It's a bug or .. i don't know. I just disconnect my Paypal from Steam :/

No one but you should access your Steam account.

Steam should not be able to login to your PayPal account... Steam has it's own browser in which it stored the info, but it can not login without you pressing login, as long as you have either entered your login credidentials or it was autofilled in.

I know only me have access to my computer but... Just wanted to know if Steam saves my Paypal-password or not. At least Steam shouldn't have the authority to complete the payment without having the permission from Paypal / me typing in Paypal -password.

if you have a on steam verified paypal account it does that it does require you to relogin into your steam account sometimes before purchases and also sometimes to relogin into paypal. that is a feature of paypal itself.

no paypal passwords are saved on steam, that works the same as openid authentication. f.e. login into websites via steam or facebook etc.

So it's just normal o.O. I bought around 10 games this year ( cuz my buddy had ~ 250 games to share with me :P) and everytime I had to login to Paypal to complete the payment . Not very safe method though ( at least on mobile devices). THANKS !

nope ^^. I got the bill from paypal mailed.
It looks like I did check the " would like to link your Steam and Paypal for easier future purchases " box after buying a game. I just didn't know about this change. Very convenient though since my Steam account ist safe.

Check your paypal account under profile > my money > my preapproved payments, if Steam is there I recommend you remove it. I had to do this to stop Steam from auto logging into Paypal, also when checking out, do not let Steam keep your information, uncheck box. Cheers

This just happened to me too! I was quite shocked/surprised I didn't have to log in to PayPal in order to execute the payment. After using PayPal almost since inception, this is the first time I encountered this!

Found this thread on google, seems like it's been happening for a while:

I'm guessing there's some checkbox some people aren't noticing either in Steam or in the PayPal checkout when you make a purchase that pre-authorises your Steam account for all future payments. Needless to say I'm going to revoke that permission in my PayPal account right away. On the one hand it's convenient, OTOH it seems like too much of a security risk. I don't even link my eBay acc't to my PayPal, despite the fact that it's the same company--I always log in to PP to make a payment.
Dont mark, remember my payment, in steam.

And in paypal delete the entry of steam as connected shop.
