Got a free game - mess up, or goodwill?
Well, this is an interesting one...

Saw the Double Fine sale today, and I thought "hell yeah, buy them all!" Thinking twice I decided to buy a couple of them so that my wallet stays intact until the next sale, so I ended up buying a few, I had Hack and Slash in my cart but decided not to buy it.

Here's the wierd bit, I went through with the transaction, double checked it was the right games etc... but after purchasing I got a gift coupon for Hack and Slash. Wasn't on the receipt, don't think I payed extra or anything, but there it was.

Seen anything like this before?

I think it was a goodwill gesture as an apology for Spacebase DF-9's Early Access debacle.

Sometimes publishers will give you coupons for owning a certain game. I guess you got lucky!

That makes sense, I bought Spacebase too, so just coincidence that it happened in that order.
