Font is ridiculously small on all Steam games - help!
I have a Samsung Ultrabook - resolution 3200x1800.

Games are always a pain in the ass to set up and get them to appear on the screen properly (why is that?).

Once I do get them to appear on the full screen normally, the font is about 2 points and almost impossible to read. Recent games include Rise of Nations and Kerbal Space Program, but almost every game is like this.

How do I fix this?

The higher your game resolution is set to, the smaller the User interface and text usually are.

Have you tried setting your game options to a lower resolution?

Yes. It doesn't seem to help on most games.

That's a problem you have with displays that have a very high dpi ratio. You have a higher resolution than a full HD TV on a much smaller display, no wonder you encounter such issues.

You could try increasing the DPI scaling in Windows, but not every game will profit from it.

Tiny tiny font on almost all games I download on Steam - help!
I own an ATIV Book 9 Plus (13.3" QHD+ Touch / Core™ i5). Most of the computer games I download on Steam display fonts that are too tiny to read. I think this has something to do with the 3200x1600 display. How do I get the font to appear so it is readable. This is not a problem with programs such as Microsoft Office or web browswers. Using Windows 8.1.

Brilliant observation! Well it didn't help obviously. Just spent half hour on tech support call with Samsung and all they did was update my graphics driver to no avail. I spent a lot of money on games on Steam - very frustrating I can't use any of them now. I can't believe this is not a common problem and easy fix.

Also, the reason I reposted is I didn't add detail before about the type of computer and that I'm running Windows 8.1.

Sans sarcasm, it certianly can be. Don't mistake advice on how to best make use of threads for something like rudeness or condescension.

install a skin with a bigger font, maybe one was so generous and made one for the moles under the humans.

Sorry - just upset that I've spent hundreds of dollars on games and now can't play them. Wuddih - I'm not sure what you mean?

google is very very hard to use ... when you type in "steam skin with large font" with your nose.
kevinorf Nov 24, 2014 @ 7:42pm
It's not the Steam interface font that's too small - it's EVERY STEAM GAME I OWN - CAN'T PLAY ANY OF THEM ON NEW LAPTOP. Is everyone on this forum snarky? Wow.
