Can't comment on any profiles

I just got this account and I noticed I cannot comment on any profiles. My account is not limited, I have spent over $5 in the steam store, and can do all the other full features I've tried (Add friends, etc). The comment box does not show up on any profile except my own. I have tried in both the steam web interface and the actual steam software. Yes, I'm sure the profiles are set to public comments.

Is there some sort of delay or time limit until I get all features? This is the only one I've noticed but there must be others.

They probably have their comment permissions set to private or friends-only instead of public.

If you read my post, the profiles are not set to private. I asked a friend and he can post, and he can indeed see the box to comment. So it's just my account.

Hate to bump, but it's 9 hours later and still haven't been able to find a solution after googling quite a bit.

i think someone gave you the answer, you can't be sure they are not set to friends only and you have no friend list so how can you test it?

This is not my only account. I am indeed 100% sure the people have their comments set to public. This is besides the point and I'm not sure why people are getting hung up on it.

Profile and Comment permissions can be set seperately, so a profile can be public but only friends or no one can comment.

Guys... You are totally missing my point. I log into my one account (not this one). I CAN comment on X person's profile (not a friend, so it's not friends only). I log out. I log into this account. I can no longer comment on that profile. I also ask a friend to look at X person's profile at the same time, and they are able to comment while I am not - neither of us are friends with whatever person. I am completely aware of how the comment privacy settings work. I cannot comment on any profiles at all.

I CANNOT COMMENT ON PROFILES EVEN WHEN THE PERSON HAS THEIR COMMENTS PERMISSIONS SET TO PUBLIC. THIS IS MY PROBLEM.

I have contacted support but have yet to received a response. I was hoping there might be a way to resolve it sooner, or at least if someone knew why I can't comment.

I still have this problem, it's never been resolved. I tried contacting steam support and they never even responded.

necro(?) I'm pretty sure you need to have a higher steam level to post comments. As i checked, op and most replies saying they have the same issue only have steam level 1. To increase your steam level for free, simply go to your profile, click "badges" and do some community tasks. :)
