or simply use your preferred webbrowser.
steam is basically a webbrowser with 2 different internal browsers, client and tenfoot client(big picture) and the store is a website.

store.steampowered.com

Damn...still gives me that message in Big Picture mode and just going through Chrome. Phone app give the same error too.

Note I had one purchase work via normal Steam view, and then tried to do another 10 minutes later and that error started...been going on for three hours now
