to do this go to
steam/settings/downloads/limit bandwidth to: 1mb/ps

then restart steam and try downloading
(downloads will take longer but you wont have to constantly reset your internet)

There are many servers steam has for users to use for downloading content, i hope you are aware of that, i think that's where you should find the answer to this problem, go to steam >Settings > Downloads > Download region - set the region you are closest to, it should already have the closest set, but thats the only thing i find here anywhere close to an answer, hope helped.

You should also look at the download limit, i really dont know how to help you here, but i hope this will lead to somewhere.

you modem/router blocks you, because it thinks you are attacking it. so the problem is your modem/router. either upgrade to a better model or configure it properly if possible.

i dont think that would be it, because like i said, i can download files the same size, and even larger than the 6gb game im downloading and i still have internet.

i dont know every single one of the gazillion of network hardware endconsumers have. usually you should find a manual on their website.

fiddle around with the firewall settings, of the modem/router. the best is you call their tech support, they should know their hardware.

I saw this on another thread. Hope this will help.

I did 2 things, and I am not sure which helped.
1. Turn off QoS Settings in your Wifi Adapter Properties.
2. in Steam Settings, limit download bandwidth. I have a 60Mbps connection. I turned down my Steam download setting to <1Mbps.
hope this works for you.

And there's this too.

Well, here's what I did to fix this issue on my computer:

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Setting > Right click your connection > Properties > Configure > Advanced > Wireless Mode tab > Value: "IEEE 802.11b/g/n" Change to "IEEE 802.11b/g > Save and exit.

According to my research, the "b/g/n" is the newest and fastest bandwidth capability and the speed that this setting runs on might be too much for older modeled modems, which explains the internet shutting down. The "b/g" setting is the more common, not the oldest but not the latest setting that is common for majority of these not state-of-the-art modems so connectivity is relatively okay with this setting.

yes the tplink is a wlan adapter usb thing, not a stick because it has wires to a small box with antennas.

i cant mess with the internet box because im 13 and cant reach it lol.

Generally speaking if your internet is bliping out its bcaues your router is getting saturated. This shouldn't be happening unless your router is really really junky. Update the firmwrae on your router if it's dropping your internet over HTTP traffic.

i found a "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" fix withc was renaming some .blob file but that didnt fix THIS problem
