Screenshots (Non-Steam Games)
So I have set The Witcher 2 GOG edition to start through steam. The overlay functions alright but I am unable to take screenshots when pressing F12. It's working fine for other Steam games. Any help?

screenshot management does only work for steam games.

Thanks for the reply, but I have seen people who have posted that they are able to take screenshots for non steam games too.

If you try some other non-Steam game, does the issue persist, or is it exclusive to the Witcher 2 you're trying to play?

Non-Steam games do support screenshotting.

Just tried it with Far Cry 4 disk version, didn't work.

But you did launch the non-Steam -game via Steam and you're sure no other overlay is conflicting with Steam. The overlay works otherwise, even in Far Cry 4?

If you want to do it manually,

Right mouse click the non-Steam -game; Create a desktop shortcut.
See what the number (app-ID) is after steam://rungameid/

After that, navigate yourself to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\79137019\760\remote\

Create a folder titled after the App-ID in the shortcut; create a folder called screenshots in it.
Create a folder called thumbnails inside the screenshots -folder.

Place the screenshots in YYYY-MM-DD_XXXXX.jpg -format to both screenshots & thumbnails folders; restart Steam.

Yes the overlay works fine, shift+tab brings it up. Okay I'll try your method, but what screenshots should I place in the folder? Cos it doesn't allow me to take any.

That's the downside, you've to take screenshots with ALT+PRT SC and paste them to an image editor per screenshot; or use a 3rd party application for the purpose.

Either way, make sure this issue doesn't happen only with games with multiple executables (like one for the client; and the other for the game.)

Alright so basically I'll use the printsceen command to take screenshots and after pasting them in the respective folders they'll show up in my Steam? Man that's a lot of work. Maybe I should try some other app like Raptr for screenshotting?

Well, it should still work on the Steam -side too, I meant my 'method' only as an alternative route if all else fails. It is unfortunately a bit of a lengthy process.
