force a game to download files from the steam cloud?

is there a way to force a game to download files from the steam cloud... im unable to play my saves in a game since it keeps failing to syncronise and there's no options i can see to just download the files.. :/

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\{userid}\{appid}

close steam, backup and delete the directory with the appid of the game you wanna download the cloud files, open steam, steam will download cloud data at steam start or start of the game.

Thanks. Unfortunately something is wrong with my account, my saved game settings are not downloading from cloud sync.
