Permanently banned for fraud in the Steam Marketplace
Hi, my account was recently suspended on the 15th of April for "fraudulent activity" after being added by an account who wanted to buy my AK-47 Vulcan FT for wallet balance and even offered to overpay because he wanted it "trade-able". I had no idea at the time that he was defrauding steam so I accepted his offer and added my UMP on the market for $43 (http://i.imgur.com/G723Z12.png ) and then proceeded to send him my Vulcan (http://i.imgur.com/Gxd33Ae.png ).

I sent a ticket to steam a week ago and finally got a response yesterday. "We have found activity in this Steam account related to fraud within the Steam Marketplace. Per the Steam Subscriber Agreement, we have locked the account permanently. The account will not be reactivated."

Any idea what I should do? My inventory is worth ~$3000 from CS:Go trading and I have personally charged over $700 to my Steam wallet... hopefully Steam realizes that I wouldn't defraud them for $43...

Where in the rules does it state I can't trade for wallet funds? And the reason I was banned is for "fraud within the Steam Marketplace".

It says not to in the trading faq, but I don't even think it is possible

this was probably not the only thing considered in their decision to lock your account.

There's got to be more to the story than this. I don't know that selling the item for $43 was really the reason.

Keep in mind the UMP skin i sold for $43 is worth 4 cents.

Steam specifically said that my account was locked for fraud in the Steam marketplace. Looking back in the two past month of my marketplace history, I've sold a few pages worth of cheap cs:go items and bought steam trading cards for leveling and GTA V.

Also my account was banned two days after the UMP transaction, so unless someone else had purchased an item of mine on the marketplace and charged it back, the UMP should've been the only reason I was banned by Steam.

They don't mention any sort of punishment, It's merely there for our safety.

People have been punished for it.

A permanent ban? A little too harsh don't you think?

More importantly, they specifically said it was for marketplace fraud, and I don't think selling items for wallet funds is considered fraud.
