I also tried with my smurf account to play at my place and I still have the same problem.
Also make sure you dont have anything eating your bandwidth while playing ie download p0rn etc lelzz
Hello and thanks for your answer. I think we're not talking about the same thing about my download speed. Here is a speedtest i just did : http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4250261015
I believe that my problem is more abut the pink message that I receive: "Receiving uncompressed update from server" than the overlay but I can be wrong so I will try without overlay and keep you up to date.
so what we can take from that is with my 165mb i get 56ping pinging you. you have 35mb pinging the closest server and 8 ping so when you ping denmark you most liky have really high ping not counting that mybe yout isp is bad or has old lines its your internet simple as
it's Steam problem delete files besides /userdata /steamapps /steam.exe
.. wating next "Receiving uncompressed update from server"
Your problem has been my problem for weeks but I just found a solution. Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y6c2mWyI30
Hope it work for you =)
1. Forward your ports on your router. Google "dota 2 port forwarding"
2. Turn on QoS (quality of service) on your router(if it has that function)
I have a netgear router and this solved my "timeout" issues. This was on a 20Mbps Fibre connection.
There is no relation between Bandwidth and Latency. The relation comes into play only when ur using most of ur BW. And Latency mostly depends on the routing.
