Steam added a game to my library after trying to purchase but the transaction failed and I can't install it

I've just bought Batman Arkham City in a sale and now it is in my steam library but if I try to install it there is a message saying 'Your purchase is still being processed - Steam will notify you when the transaction has been completed. Until then, this game is not available to play'. When I tried to buy it from my cart it failed and showed a message with a link on it to see if it had worked or not (although I can't remember what the message was). But steam wouldn't load anything so I restarted it. Now the store page wont let me buy the game for myself because I already have it, but I can't play it because the transaction hasn't worked.

Any help to sort it out and make it work will be greatly appreciated.

when using a new form of payment you need to wait for verification from steam before your allowed to play a game. this is used to combat credit card fraud

Im also having the same issue with borderlands 2 dlc and so is my girlfriend on her account, and we also tried seeing about gifting it to each other instead and it says that the other person has it already on there too

this message tells you that you already purchased it. why do want to purchase it again? patience is the solution here.

It's because it's never done this before, I'm just paying from my steam wallet as I've always done but now it hasn't worked. Thanks for the help, hopefully it's alright because the sale ends in less than an hour

what ever you bought its safe just wait for steam to fix the issue its on their end not yours

strange thing about it is though, nothing has come out of my bank account yet. guess something must of broke at their end

Yep. Exact same issue. Paying from Steam wallet for 2 games, first steam hung on the purchase for me or as a gift. Restarted, went back to cart, clicked, waited, finally went to payment options. Checked box, waited, waited, waited, finally reset steam after about 10 minutes. Game are now on my games list. I can't play them due to purchase not being completed, and can't complete purchase due to the fact that I now already own the games.

Curious about this issues, as I haven't seen this one before.

I am hoping this doesn't effect my sale purchase as well. I finally broke down and snagged Shadowrun : Dragonfall.

Same, steam hang up on the Styx, purchase, didnt bill it, put it in my library, and doesnt let me install it, on the purchasing site it says failed purchase.

This whouldnt bother me becouse if i klick the install link it says that the purchasing is still in process so i think steam will sooner or later end the purchase (and they better make sure that i get the sale % its on right now). But i wanted to buy 2 additional games, batman origins and shadowrun cirectors cut, but i cannot advance buying becouse styx is in pendling. -_- Seriously, wtf is wrong with steam today, is it get hacked?

And it has nothing to do with changing the purchase way, i always purchase on 2 same ways, and the last 3 times i purchased same way as today.

I was wanting to put more money onto my account so I could get Arkham Asylum as well, but now it's not letting my because it is still trying to process my first purchase which is annoying...

When is this going to be fixed? I was in the middle of processing the transaction and the transaction hung. I restarted Steam and found that the game was added to the library, but I cannot download until the payment is processed.
