Converting regular headphones to gaming headphones
The title may seem a little weird, but I got Beats Solo HD for Christmas and I love the quality of the sound that comes from them. Don't post saying Beats suck are overpriced, I know that, otherwise I wouldn't have them. My parents aren't cheap, but when it comes to something overpriced they try and find ways to get a better deal and did so with my headphones. They got a brand new pair for around $50, which is better than the regular $169.

Anyways, if you can understand know what I'm about to ask, then answer please. I'm wanting to convert or turn them into a gaming pair of headphones, but not a headset. I am going to keep my headset plugged in for the mic, but I want to hear the audio on my Beats. I've tried plugging them in and playing, but the levels of in game audio where out of place, some sounds that normally were loud were quiet and vice versa with other audio levels.

What I'm wanting to know is if there is a program out there that can turn Beats into gaming headphones to where I can get the crisp quality sound and gaming environment in my ears like normal, but more epic sounding than my Turtle Beaches. I have a cheap pair of turtle beaches, new, but not great. They are perfect for what I use them for, but my Beats would be better.

Does anyone know what I can do? I've searched Google so don't post to go there as I already have and haven't found what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance to THOSE that HELP.

Thanks for the reply, although it actually doesn't help me, in which I thought I posted in the help section. I guess I can't read and should have posted else where...

I should have shortened it for people like you. You probably don't own any Beats in which the reason you posted what you did. I own some and they sound good for music and videos on youtube, but as soon as I play a game with them on, the sounds in game are different, making certain things hard to hear in which are necessary, as in footsteps, objectives given by an announcer, or simply the game itself. There are higher frequency levels and everything sounds louder, crisper, but not normal.

What I'm asking for is, is there a solution to this, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had this problem and wanted to fix it.

that brought back a memory where we told pesants that drilling holes in their modems would make them faster because the data gets accelerated by the air. .. well..

you simply have to configure the stuff to your needs in windows and ingame. and sometimes the audio will sound very different. beats are all just stereo, maybe your turtle was surround. and this is also something you can mostly configure in windows and in the game.

If your headphones are bad for sound from games, there really is not much you can do, other than get a new set of headphones for gaming or try to set/adjust the sound in the game and/or "control panel/sound" or "control panel/realtek HD Audio Manager"

I've got a headset, which works fine, I was just wondering if I could use Beats for crisper audio, with more bass than I have now.

All you can do is try to adjust the sound, there really is nothing else you can do.

Yes, I do, but spending money I don't have isn't an option. Plus, what I have is fine, I was just looking to optimize it for the best sound in game.

try to change some audio settings, manipulate speaker system options, and see if there is a setting for virtual surround sound.

Even audio onboard desktop mobos and laptops (such as Realtek HD Audio) have this. However that alone doesn't help. That just allows 5.1 movies to be fully heard in 2 channel is all it really does.

Enhancements for Headsets, then try this:

most 'gaming' headsets are mug style, and help reduce background noise
some have a volume adjust on their cord near the headset
and others have a mic for voip

or the trutle beach px use a 3.5mm jack for game sound and usb audio for voip and have volume controls for both on them
