Humble Bundle - Redeeming Games you already own

There are a few games in a recent humble bundle that I already own in Steam.

I would like to know what happens if I'd redeem these codes on Steam. Would I get the gift codes? Or would I get the game twice? Or would the key just not activate?

I didn't want to test it, because I am afraid to lose the keys. Thanks for any responses!

You won't get gift codes

It will either tell you you already own the game , or if it's a "bundle" key the extra copy is vaporized

erm .... he spoke about humble bundle keys, and they are now normally one key per game, so he won't lose any extra keys, these keys can still be used on other steam accounts.

I have a similar problem the games are in a bundle key as in they all are part of the same key so I don't want to lose the ones I already have (as I want to gift them to friends) but the ones I don't already own I want to have. but since they are all part of the same key I can only gift them all or claim them all

You're out of luck, that's simply how keys work on Steam. The entire bundle must be activated to one account, and duplicates are lost.
