I use a Cd key, and this key is from the russian region, i will be banned?

Hello, my cousin give me a cd key for my happy birtday, and i go to steam and use the key and i active a game called "Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War Retail (RU)" I dont use software like vpn to active it, i only put the serial , and i have it in my library, next and install it and play normally.

Steam ban for using keys from other regions? I will banned for it,
It is injustice because i only put the serial and i get the game on my library.

As far as I know, Steam won't ban you for using a key from another region. You will be fine.

heartland of piracy and people are poor. you either have the option to sell your games cheap there, which is done on steam, mostly 50% of USD price or even less, or you simply lose the market completely to piracy.

that is why most gifts and keys are region restricted to russia and surrounding countries, when they are obtained there ... this game was probably an ancient excuse, otherwise you couldn't have activated it.

the worst thing that could happen to you now is, that the dev/publisher decides to put a runrestriction on the RU subscription of the game. then you cannot start the game anymore, except when you are in russia.
