What does the dislike button do?
Much like the YouTube dislike button, I believe that the Steam dislike button is non-functional.

When clicking the blue 'thumbs up' button on a screenshot, it adds one to the count of how many people liked the screenshot, but when pressing the red 'thumbs down' button, it doesn't subtract one from the people who liked the screenshot, so does the dislike button do anything or is it just there?

For the record, I'm speaking of screenshots, not reviews, as those two are completely different things.

you will see the thumbs down and that is for what the button is there for. the whole voting is just like a +1 google or facebook like, so only positive votes will show up. the thumbs down is just there for your psychological shenanigans.

So it's like I said, right?

Pressing the like button shows that you enjoy the screenshot to everybody viewing it, but pressing the dislike button doesn't show anything? It only shows how many people like it, but not the people who dislike it.

That's pretty stupid if you ask me.
Both Google and Steam have got it all wrongggggg.
It's ridiculous, Gaben should come down from his IT cloud and change this

Top true. More than that - as you scroll your friends activity you can not dislike a screenshot. You have to open it and only then hit it down. If you dislike it from activity feed the 'dislike' button will work as 'go up'. (steam being a happy troll) :steamhappy:
The 'likes' though are totally fine either ways.
"Ridiculous!" (HP3):good_shot:
