delete account due to mass reporting?
A friend of mine said that a group put me on a so-called "raid list" and said that I would be bombarded with reports on my profile. He said that I could be banned from the community or even worse, have my account deleted. This is making me scared, so much so that I changed my name and photo, made my profile private and that's how it is.

Can I have my account deleted due to mass reporting?

Please tell me how my account can be deleted so that I know what to do and what not to do.

Mass reporting wont work and if you havent done anything wrong you dont have anything to worry about
Its just to scare you and probably they will try to bribe you into not reporting.
Ignore them all and if they post comments on your account just report them for harrassment.
Come back here if you have any problems

thanks! you made my day.
Accounts are not deleted. Worst that could happen on Stem is an account lock, with a community ban. That means you can not add more games to that account, either directly, gifted or even game key, as well as lose access to all community features such as discussions and profile posting.

You would still have access to the games and purchased content.

However, as said earlier, reports alone won't do anything, so they should have nothing to worry about.

Only one account that anyone knows of has ever been truly disabled by Valve and that was due to making threats against Valve employees and harassing support.

Scare Tactic. This is usually done by scammers to scare you into revealing information or follow up with a fake steam support moderator chat. BE AWARE steam will never send you chat to you to ask for information. They already know all information usually about your account, so this is a scam method. Same as how some scam callers try to scare you into giving info, like calling you about being late with payment and shutting down a service, or calling about a warrant for your arrest, etc.
reports do a lot....the question comes back to you doing anything.....to be blunt this sounds like a scam.....

This is usually the first part of a scam. You can read more about it here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/3195-9FFB-BA06-F25B
Afraid so. Next.
