We're in a Steam sale right now so everything is slow. The servers are under a lot of stress. It could also be because you're not connecting to your closest region for downloads.

Your speed test seems about right. You are getting 3.42 Mb per second notice the small b this is important. Small b means bits, large B means bytes. Steam is giving you the number in KB/s not Kb/s. There are 8 bits to a byte, hence 3.42 Mb/s is about 0.4275 MB/s which is approximately what you are getting (it's about 438 KB/s).

I downloaded ARK today to my HDD and it took about 30 to 45 minutes. I deleted it to install it to my SDD for faster load times and it's been going for hours now.

Speedtest measure MBITSps

Steam measures MBYTESps

3MBITps = 375 KBYTEps

Aka you're getting the max your connection can do.

You don't need to delete a game and re-download it in order to switch it to a different drive.

You can go to your Steamapps folder on your HDD and then find the folder for ARK. Then drag and drop into your Steamapps folder on your SSD. Then go into the client and click uninstall. Then click install and then select the SSD and it will then detect the files are already there.

Wow. That's slow to you? I've been downloading games at a peak of 395. I've been lied to my whole life.

56k modem era was nice and relaxed, 10 megabyte of half-life patch, you could easily go for a walk with the dog, while you wait for the download to finish. now i have 2gbit connection and i do not even have time to run to the fridge and get myself a drink before most of my games are downloaded compeltely.

and the dog is dead, ♥♥♥♥ fast internet.

It is so slow because steam servers have more traffic because of the sale. Just be patient.
