Mic problems Windows 10
I have a pair of steelseries Siberia v2 headset and the mic was fine in skype and earlier in steam before I upgraded to Windows 10. I had Clownfish as well but that was only for skype. I deleted clownfish and I still have the problem. My voice sound very low and sort of like an alien. It is hard to understand me. It is only in steam, because my skype and teamspeak sound fine.

I just want to point that the one solution that keeps getting reposted does not work for me (and I can only assume for others as well). Under the Advanced tab, I do not have an option for Audio Enhancements. So my solution, as I've stated above, is to just not use steam's voice chat.
Probably not helpful for anyone other than "hey, me too." Good luck out there.
Same thing with me!

Perfect Solution Without Download!
Go control panel
Then Hardware and sound
Then Sound
Then Recording
The Properties
Then Advanced
Then Uncheck the Enable Audio Enhancements Ticky Box Thingy
Test your mic and you're welcome
:P

THANK YOU!

I may be late to the party, but here my scenario; I updated my computer using the free Windows 10 update, and everything was kinda good, nothing to really complain on, but then there was a big update for Windows 10, and suddenly my microphone stopped working in TeamSpeak and in Discord, but it still worked in Skype. Nothing was fixing the problem, so I just didn't really play as much as before it stopped working. Because who really want to use skype?

So I started reading a bit on forums and eventually got to this one, didn't really think it was going to help, but I gave it a shot.

But the stages for me was;
Go control panel.
Then Hardware and sound.
Then Sound.
Then Recording.
The Properties.
Then Enhancements.
Then check the box "Disable all sound effects".
Then "OK".

And it started working immediately.

Thanks a bunch again, I really appreciate it.

Thanks.

For me, for some reason the mic had changed to 44k Hz and that did not fly. Apps would kill the mic and it would stop working without showing any error. Changing to 48K Hz did the trick.

Can someone please help out with this? Nothing I do works, I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, I've restarted my laptop countless of times, I've tried to do the disable enhancements but my version of Win 10 does not give me the option. HELL, I've even went as far as doing a SYSTEM RESTORE-- and that did not help ; - ; I'm absolutely livid at this situation and sorely regret ever downloading clownfish voice changer (this program is what funked up my mic, I've already uninstalled it by this point.)

The mic I'm using is the default mic of my laptop (built in)

Post if your Windows 10 is 64 or 32 bit.

Post the exact model and model number of that laptop. Identify the computer here, please, or post a link to it that shows the exact model.

After doing that system restore, did you then reinstall all updates for the OS and drivers ? As that would have put your computer back a bit from the most recent updating, possibly, depending on what and when you installed updates. Thanks.

Fixed this issue !

Additional signal processing is the culprit. Hope it helps.

I tried this and it did not work, BUT what did work is the following.

Assuming you have MS Windows 64bit

1. Uninstall clownfish.
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ClownfishVoiceChanger
3. Delete it's contents.
4. If you can't delete ClownfshAPO64.dll, rename it to ClownfshAPO64.dll.old
5. Reinstall Clownfish.
6. Open Clownfish setup and remove the mic you usually use and then click install, to reinstall it.
7. Test - This worked for me.

The latest version seems to have resolved all of the issues.
