Item lost in Steam trade with error message "Items Now Unavailable For Trade "

This guy (Julius Kingsley) who was supposed to trade his knife for mine told me to first give me knife to a trustworthy friend and have him give it back to me so he knows the knife wont "disappear". I've never heard of the glitch he was talking about but I traded with my friend anyways. After my friend successfully got the knife and was trading it back the knife disappeared. I did get the notification for a new trade, but when I clicked it, it said "Items Now Unavailable For Trade" with a greyed out trade box. On his side it says the item has been traded, but I didn't receive anything on my end.

It would be greatly appreciated if a steam admin could pinpoint the place where this trade went wrong. Although Julius Kingsley was probably the one responsible, this is still a steam related glitch.

P.S I've already summited a ticket on steam support. I also just checked Julius Kingsley on google, and it appears he is a well known scammer (**** me). So I don't know the reason why he is still scamming people and not banned....

The place the trade went wrong was when you gifted him the item. Only trade when both items are in the same trade window.

Sounds like you or your friend fell for the old fake middleman scheme

stuff is gone. don't listen to people that are giving you instructions that don't make sense at all.

tradetest = garbage. you probably traded with someone that impersonated your friend. or your friend was too stupid and traded it back to someone who impersonated you.

that type of scam needs a bit of a setup but in the end, it is your fail for not checking profiles.
