Nah i had a problem with XFire not installing a few months back so i contacted support and got a same day answer that fixed the problem pretty good really i thought.
Here is a link to support, like you say it's worth a shot.
Ahh i guess your on the middle client? i went from the old blue one (skipped the grey one) to the new beta (dont know if it's still beta) the old blue one did'nt have a few games on there but the beta did, plus i would never have anything Yahoo related on my PC there some sneaky mofo's.

The reason why this is happening actually isn't our fault, it's a matter of Steam blocking XIG hooking through the old input system. As soon as Steam detects an old input system XIG hook, the game is immediately shut down without so much as an error to explain why. So if you want to complain to somebody about games shutting down with the use of the old version of Xfire, complain to Steam about it.
