Remove Steam's memory of a paypal account?
I checked the new box for Steam to remember the paypal account, and my first payment of $10 went through, but the second one didn't. I just got the error:

"Your purchase has not been completed.
The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method."

I just figured it was because of the stupid "remember information" checkbox, so I'm not redirected to a Paypal site anymore. Is there a way to undo the "remember this account" checkbox?

Something went wrong while displaying this content. Refresh

Hit delete in the right box.

if you're in client, hit the arrow in the upper right and click account details.

yeah id change that, I dont mind going the extra step in logging in my paypal to purchase than just leave the info in the client. tooo risky if you ask me...

You always have to,go that extra step, even if you let Steam remember.

you always have to login into paypal, the saved data is your name adress and stuff you enter on steam and that information counts as in any other store as your customer information. PayPal is just the payment method.

Steam Store is a website, one website cannot save data for another website, that is impossible. If it is possible then only through a security hole.

Websites have been able to store a token from Paypal to allow them to make charges automatically for years.

Steam just started AFAIK - I did a Paypal purchase today without the Paypal window opening at all (I have deleted this from my account, though - I prefer entering the Paypal password every time).

PayPal and eBay do that, but they're very closely partnered. Wuddih is right, it's not dangerous.

Well I just bought 2 games today and for the first time I didn't have to login to paypal at all. I always use paypal, never use steam wallet and never have money in paypal account. I'm a little concerned and puzzled at how it used my paypal without me logging in.

Got this today as well. Just make sure you logout from PayPal on whatever browser your passing funds to. Apologies for the necro

I have been using the "My Paypal Account" option on Steam for ages and not having to use passwords (only to refresh token once in a while), so I don't know how this is new? Perhaps it's a region thing.

But now I have the same issue as OP and eventually deleted Paypal as described in post #1 since I found no way to see and change what info was stored. But even after doing that, I am unable to restart using Paypal and still get that error message when trying.

I recently moved so I guess outdated address data could be an issue when using "My Paypal Account" but I don't see how it could be an issue when using the direct Paypal option since Paypal has had my correct address for months and I am able to use Paypal w/o hiccups on other sites.

This may be a necro of this thread, but twice now(and I REMOVED all paypal info from steam the first time it happened, so this is very troubling) steam went right ahead and withdrew money from my paypal without me having to login or confirm it. This has to stop. I KNOW i removed the info because it was only 2 days ago I made a payment via paypal, and today it did it again, when it shouldn't even had that info on file!
