Windows 32-bit and gaming.

Windows 64-bit ran my old computer's games without a problem, but when I upgraded pc's I mistakingly bought 32-bit Windows 7 instead of 64-bit. My computer runs games perfectly with about 100 fps, but due to windows 32-bit I can hardly play half of my library. I get constant crashes and big freezes, the only solution to 1 or 2 games is to turn down the graphics to the lowest settings which is not fun considering I have a computer that is able to run the game at it's highest potential. I don't think I am the only one with this problem. Games that this affects include: DayZ (Biggest game affected) CS:GO, Insurgency, and Outlast just to name a few.

Get a 64 bit installation DVD. You can download one from Microsoft assuming you have a valid license.

Your license key is valid for both a 32 and 64 bit version of Windows 7. Go to the Microsoft page and download the 64 bit installer and use your license key during installation.

windows license keys dont get "used". they are meant to use then multiple times, since the default answer on many pre-win8 windows problems is "reinstall windows",

Yes, if you use it on the same computer, because the key is now connected to this specific computer. :heyred:

for very boring days:
2 PCs
1 windows key
install it on the first and activate it there.
install it on the second and activate it there. the first one gets deactivated automatically

and then you can start playing windows activation ping pong. the key gets flagged and cannot be used anymore after about 10-50 activations depending on the license type, you have to call microsoft to fix that ;)
