DirectX Errors... IN EVERY GAME?!
Yup. Not quite sure what happened, but today, NONE of my games feel like working. Not a single one. I've tried reinstalling DirectX, but none of my games are working. L4D2, Sanctum 2, DoW II Retribution, Fallout 3 GotY, all just failing to launch! What the hell's going on?

Are your drivers updated?

They were, but as of a few hours ago, nothing works. Is it possibly a driver corruption? Just Cause 2 works fine (with some strange bugs) and nothing else will even launch, despite trying to reinstall the common redistributables for each game.

gpu/mainboard drivers.

directx and runtimes are no drivers.

So, what should I do about it? Still no luck, except with DirectX 10 games like Just Cause 2 and Bioshock.

I'm getting a WD Blue and Windows 8.1 64-bit soon anyway, but this still kind of sucks.

did you upgrade to windows 10?

I'd go with a clean unisntall of your video drivers, reboot, reinstall, reboot no matter what

reinstall update gpu/mainboard drivers, as said. directx is just an interface. if your gpu drivers are messed up, this will also result in dx errors.

I've done so with 15.7.1, which was working fine earlier. It didn't help.

What's strange is that while DX9/DX11 titles fail, both Bioshock 1 and Just Cause 2 (DX10) were fine (though fullscreen was messed up).

Its AMD

Uninsatll/reboot/reinstall/reboot

Their CCC drivers have always been 'iffy' :P

Tried it twice, still no luck. I've never had this problem before, and I've had this card all Summer.

I've been at the latest version (15.7.1 Omega) for quite a while now.

Problem with DirectX??
Try downloading Directx end-user runtime web installer from official Windows site, run as administrator if shows error, try the video.
Best of luck!

Tried it before. No error message, but no results either.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'll get it fixed. I'm switching to a WD Blue and Windows 8.1 soon, so it's not a big deal.

Found the problem! Some Windows update didn't install properly, so deleting them and reinstalling them fixed it. I just tested it, Fallout 3 (which previously gave me an "Unknown D3D Error while creating the Gamebryo renderer") got past the launcher without a problem.

Hope it helps them more than me, I was about to fresh-install Windows anyway since I only had 500GB of space total and a 32-bit OS.
