How to send game from Malaysia to Japan?
Hello, I was wondering.. How to send a game from Malaysia to Japan? I've a friend living in Japan(I'm in Malaysia), and I wanted to buy a game for him so we can play together.. And then I noticed that Valve region locked so I can't send the game to him.. I've already the money in my Steam Wallet, and I've no idea what to do now.. Help?

My friend had also bought a game for me before, but since he's from Japan, there was no region lock for him.. Don't you think this is just plain unfair?

csgo
what i pay: ¥ 740 at -50% (base)
what you pay: ¥ 451.50 -38.99% (RM15.50 at -50%)

and this is for most games the same.

do you think it would be fair, when i just would fake that i live in malaysia to pay 40% less?
nope, that would be poor country/currency exploitation.

you can always look for 3rd party stores that sell steam redeemable keys that are not region-restricted.

While I appreciate Valve's way of preventing shady people from making shady deals like that, what about for legitimate players who just want to play a game with a friend? I've already inserted the money into my Steam wallet(as shown here: http://puu.sh/jMtbb/31f71226f7.jpg ). While 3rd party stores are fine and dandy, what do I do with the money already spent on the wallet, then?

Maybe you should have checked what you were buying before handing your money over?

Aye, I admit that was a mistake on my part, but the my question still points to the problem of this sort of lock. I do not mind if they take actions that will thwart bad people, but even legit players like me is being affected, and that is not fair to the users at all.

I know there is a saying that goes "One bad apple spoils the bunch", but I do not think that normal and legitimate players and buyers deserve this sort of lock and they should have the right to spend their money on the products that they wish to spend on, and gift the products to friends should they wish to do so.

Moreover, do note that there was absolutely NO notices or even warnings that tells us the game we buy will be region-locked when it comes to gifting, it will only tell us about it AFTER we added the game to the cart, then wanting to check out the item in question. With that in mind, what most players who uses the Wallet almost exclusively will almost always check the price of that game from the catalog, input their money, then buy the game, to which in non of those parts where we even get a single warning from Steam about the region-lock at all(unless I'm blind or careless).

Do you see my problem now? When it comes to using the Wallet, I had checked the price, since I had forgotten about the region lock that was implemented during May, it would have been already too late for me when I had found out about this region-lock, and it troubles me since I had already input the money.

You might be able to get a refund if your payment method supports refunding.

Steam Wallet Refunds
You may request a refund for Steam Wallet funds within fourteen days of purchase if they were purchased on Steam and if you have not used any of those funds.

I think that all users who have region locked games in their Steam stores should still be able to send their friends game gifts by paying the price that the game has in their friends' regions.

Unfortunately, I had purchased Steam Wallet via a 3rd party website, so that won't work, too bad for me. And their refund policy is:
After eClubstore has received your valid return, eClubStore will, within a reasonable time and in eClubStore's sole discretion: repair the Goods, replace the Goods with an equivalent item, credit to the credit card used to pay for the product the amount paid for the Goods, or provide another remedy that eClubStore determines in good faith is appropriate in the circumstances.

This return policy is ONLY VALID FOR MERCHANDISE or PHYSICAL GOODS purchased from eClubStore with the terms set forthwidth. Steam Wallet Codes, eClub Voucher Points and Retail Game Codes is not valid for any return policy.
The website I use is www.eclubstore.com

I do notice that I can use eclub-points to buy my Wallet straight up, but due to me having a habit of not willing to let money linger on 3rd party websites used solely for reloading another service(in this case, Steam), I bought a Wallet code there using my card, leaving absolutely no extra credits in that website, instead of using Steam's way of reloading using the ePoints credit for the website.

Welp, my incompetence is what led me to this dumb problem anyway, haha.

This, I definitely agree 100% with this, why are you not working in Valve to implement this? Haha.
