Got scammed, sent in a support ticket. Do I have to do anything else?
Evening Everyone.

I am new to the CSGO Trading scene, so I was on CSGO Lounge in hopes of selling my Bayonet Doppler (FN) for some money in real (For my school project). Anyways, some guy with a huge rep scammed the knife from me and never paid me (PayPal) i didn't want to go through with it but he pressured me and said he will pay me within 5 minutes, I really needed the money so I went ahead with it. They immediately blocked me and kept changing their Steam URL. However I was able to get their Steam 64 URL.

I have sufficient proof of the user scamming me, I have screenshots, I have the csgo lounge links that state he added me to buy my knife. I reported the user to Steam Rep as well and send in a Steam Support Ticket last night with as much info as I can including links and screenshots. I really need this item back, I have learned my lesson not to trust anyone on the internet. Especially Steam traders. I hope to recover the knife so I can sell it to a friend in real for some money for my project.

Anyways, is there anything else I can do to report this scammer? The user has scammed some other users as well according to Steam Rep and just this morning some guy messaged me saying he can hack the scammers account and return my knife if I pay him 10% of the knifes price before hand (Already reported and blocked him)..

One more question: How long does Steam Support take to reply to a ticket? I've had issues like this solved within an hour on Origin so I am not quite sure what to do here. If I don't get the item then that's 300USD down the drain.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Doge

Since you traded outside the system (Paypal trading), the only thing you can do is report the user for scamming. You will not get your items back however.

Steam Item Restoration Policy

You should observe the Recommended Trading Practices when conducting a trade with any third party website, just as you would with any other Steam user. For example, you should never trade for anything that cannot be added into the trade window within Steam. Items that are lost or scammed when trading with a third party website will not be restored upon request.

Edit: Also see the Scam FAQ

Yeah, never risk trading outside of the steam window. It's highly risky. CSGO Lounge is also thrid party (gray website - use at your own risk), not part of steam. Don't trust that so-called hacker either - probably a friend of the scammer, trying to scam more (plus it's illegal).

You can report him on SteamRep.com, if you have solid proof. Also, report his steam account. You might not be lucky enough to get the item back however. :(

Thank you very much for your promptly response guys, I wasn't aware of this policy till now. Kind of sucks that they aren't able to return my item, anyways I have reported the user and so have many users on Steam rep but it looks like Steam doesn't care about it.
Steam cant know if you got paid somewhere else.
Thats why they cant just return agreed items

I sent them screenshots of my transactions, the traders link. The user that scammed me has been losing rep lately and it's obvious that the user scammed me and that he didnt pay me elsewhere.

doesn't matter, the transactions did not happen on Steam. they never saw any money on their bank accounts, so everything you can provide, as legit it might be, is fake. it is a 5 minute task to fake a bank transaction with someone else, Valve has no way to check the legitimately of that transaction.

SteamRep is not part of Steam and is an external website run by someone else. Everything that is done there is irrelevant on Steam itself. "+rep" comments on profiles you can ignore, they are worthless and have no meaning.

The Steam trading system is scam safe if you just have the ability to read and understand a few market values and in general: Money on Steam stays on Steam otherwise Steam would provide this functionality itself to transfer things from your Wallet into your bank account.

Outside of Steam you are nowhere safe, I even know a person that got scammed with cash money counterfeits on an in-person deal.

what is "a huge rep" exactly?

some 3rd party sites have good rep systems but you did not use those or you would not be posting here.
