dota 2 lagging after update (high memory usage)

yesterday (11.11.2015 and before) i was playing dota with zero lags. after that 1GB 12 november update, my dota video settings just changed by itself and everything became laggy. even with bots i cant play fluently. skill animations, right click delays everything is getting laggy now. i checked my memory usage from task manager and its 1gb while playing.
im using windows 8.1 x64 and like i said, there was not a single problem before that update.
there is nothing wrong in my internet connection. its because of the game. everything changed by itself. i made my settings the same again but it didnt help. lowering them doesnt help too.
please help.

i just checked and its the same if i watch some live game. i get the same move in the screen and in the animation of the heros.

oh I'm having the exact same thing - I was *sure* it was my internet but it only started post patch. I checked my ping and it's the same as usual, and I realised it's the actual game performance - it just feels like lags because of the sudden stops, input latency, slide-show effect. I turned the graphs right down to Minecraft settings, and it hasn't helped. I'm now sure something in the update has ruined the performance. The game starts off fluid and playing normally, then sometime after the horn it becomes unplayable. Sometimes after playing for 20-25 minutes it smooths out again, but still with big issues.

any fixes for this greatly appreciated

Did you try -nod3d9ex putting in your launch options? Fixed it for me.

If not try: -gl (nvidia only) -dx10 -dx11

lol and i thought i was the only one noticed this problem. there isnt much of a problem for me but i noticed the sudden fps drop on my part. I thought the recent patch would improve the performance of the game? oh well. i hope valve fix this.

finally i can play dota again without stuck at loading screen..
work great too at custom games..

i just input it at my launch option..
and it's worked..
maybe this major update reset it again..
idk..
but at least the problem solved for now..
