everything you buy directly on steam store is not retail. everything not bought on steam and activated via cd-keys is retail. simple thing.

ok thank you for replying on this thread,, 1 more thing theres someone said on the forum that he buy 5$ on steam but still non limited user account the only reply he receive is someting that retail games or beta games like that... thats what im avoiding to buy on steam... could you make it more clearer that all on steam stores are safe?
All games over $5 USD in the Steam Store will unlimit an account.

Use www.xe.com to check the exchange rate.

just read the title before, you want to remove account limitation?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3330-IAGK-7663

$5+ or your local equivalent "invested" in Steam.

can be anything that has a specified value on steam:
- redeeming wallet codes/cards
- normal steam store purchases
- any form of microtransactions that allows direct payments(like on steam store) without wallet (only the dota store afaik)

then the account will be unlimited.

the next thing would then be the community market. that needs an unlimited account and a valid purchase on Steam 30-365days ago. if you for example redeemed a wallet code/card, that would not count as a purchase, since that is a redemption, you would still have to do a purchase of anything on Steam but that can then have any value. even 1 cent purchases will then alow the usage of the market 30 days later.
