cd key gave me wrong product

Any help here will be a appreciated. So I purchased awhile ago a hard copy of Fallout 3 game of the year edtion and recently decided downloading it on my steam account via cd key. I know this cd key is for the game as i downloaded while ago on my old computer. however when i typed in the cd key on steam it gave me fallout new vegas and not fallout 3 game of the year edition. So what happened here?..

I am in the process however why would the cd key give me the fallout game of the yeard addition on my older computer if it was the wrong key for it?..

You must've activated a different key. Keys are only usable once. Games are activated to your Steam account, not your computer.

I wish I knew how to add an image. I have the case and the two cds for fallout 3 and inside the case is a cd key which is for fallout 3. game of the year addition. It includes operation anchorage The pitt broken steel and mothership zeta not fallout new vegas at all..

But you has said it was a hard copy, so where did this download come from? What service did it use?

A key can only be activated on an account one time. The same key will say it is activated on another account already if used again.

No i went to activate a product on steam. I was told by another forum if you have a hard copy of some games you can activate it on steam without havinbg to purchase the game twice. So I activated it however it activated the wrong game haha

Sounds like the game company did some mistake, you will need to talk to them i guess to solve it

Keys for Grand Theft Auto V do not redeem on Steam. Contact the seller and request a refund. Only buy from reputable sellers in future.
