Canceled a single trade

On steam it says you wont be able to trade with the specific person you canceled your trade with! So i canceled a trade i did not want. Now i am trade banned for a week..

Cancelling trades will result in not being able to trade for 7 days.

Cancelling trades that are pending or in a trade hold will begin a trading cooldown on your account to prevent any further unauthorized attempts to trade away items.

canceling trades in escrow hold will trigger 7 days trading restriction, since those are already finished trades. and that is exactly what the button said http://i.imgur.com/s2q2zFs.png

declining/cancelling trade offers will not do that, so you cancled a finished trade in escrow hold.

hello sir.... i want to as somethink about Unhold trade... and me already cancel thats trade at 12/12/2015 and thats will be 7days cannot trade right? now already 19/12/2015 still cannot trade... how to fix it? or thats bacause not the right time 7days and 24hour at same time me cancel trade? plss help

Well it is rather silly. I got for the first time someone offering me a trade. Seeing I never did it I of course did ALL THE MISTAKES that I guess everyone does. I didn't like it, I cancelled. He sent another offer. I accepted. Offer not going though for some reason, canceled and re accepted only to get errors. Cancelled again. Made my own offer, offer accepted. Stuck in limbo for minutes waiting for some kind of acknowlegement that the offer is good. Cancelled that. So went to profile and saw one offer pending. Went there. looked good asked for mobile authentication. Did that. Again went into limbo. Cancelled that!

After that we both gave up. I didn't think it was that difficult to make a trade?

I felt sorry for the guy, I thought what if I gave him a skin, would that do anything. So I went to send him a 10 cent skin and it says that because of all the cancelling I cannot trade.

LOL what is wrong with all of this.

Don't really care, I don't trade anyways. But I feel sorry for the people getting punished because they don't have a clue and it seems more complicated than it should be.

Which is fine, because it will keep my interest in wanting to use the trading forums to a ZERO.

You do not get a ban for declining offer. You get a ban for accepting an offer and cancelling it while on hold. Read the text above the cancel button.

Escrow is when a third-party assists in the exchange of money or property between two consenting parties, only delivering the money/property when pre-arranged conditions have been met. It's also what people are using to refer to Steam's trade holds.

I remember seeing that you can still cancel a transaction even when it is on hold.
Problem is I was not getting confirmation that it was on hold. I kept getting the icon spinning and spinning. Even the other guy said, "What, we gotta wait?" So he told me to cancel it. I didn't want to wait 3 days either.

All in all, this trading sounds like a huge waste of time for skins that cost less than $5, which I was wondering in the first place as to why this guy simply just didn't go by the skins?

And with that, why have a trading thing going on when you can get the skins right away instead of 3 days waiting. Sounds absurd and I suppose I don't know enough about other advantages about it, but could really care anyways. I have learned, it's a waste of time and I buy my skins regardless if I like what I see. Who cares if its a few cents more.
