steel ocean will not start

I downloaded the game a few days ago and it will not start. All I get are some chinese charscters and "Shader Model 3.0" someone please help me.

GPU stands for graphics processing unit, it's perhaps more commonly known as your graphics card or video card.

No need to apologize.

Hold down the Windows key and press R, or open the Start menu and choose "Run"
Type "dxdiag" and press enter
In the new window, go to the "Display" tab, your GPU will be listed here

You would usually find it by hitting over the Start Menu and right-clicking on Computer. If you want the full specs of your computer, go to your Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and under that, click on Device Manager.

That's actually your GPU, it's an integrated graphics chip. So your GPU only supports shader model 2.0, while the game requires shader model 3.0; you will not be able to play the game without upgrading your GPU, I'm sorry.
