PC wont run games anymore
This has been going on for some time now and need to give all the appropiate information because this is starting to become a joke!
I have an Alienware X51 - CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz - GPU GeForce GTX 660 - 8gb RAM and run on Windows 10 Home. What I mean is when I say my games wont work is... when i strart them up (Which works fine and smoothly) as soon as I get past the start menu, the frame rate goes next to nothing. It literally makes the games unplayable. And I know this isn't the fault of the graphics card because I've had these games running on ultra just fine! E.g. Not 4 months ago I had Skyrim up and running on ultra setting at a comfortable 60fps... I've tried everything... changing performance setting in the control panel and global settings on the nvidia control panel, and on the program settings, ensured windows power preference is on high performance, always make sure the games are running on nvidia high performance too, I've deactivated the intergrated graphics in BIOs and in control panel, that didn't work. I;ve downloaded old drivers, newer drivers and still nothing! I don;t know whats wrong. I can't play any of my games and it's starting to get really really annoying now, any help would be much appreciated!!
I think it may be to do with windows 10, it hasn't worked since installing that I don't think. Another bit of information is; whenever I try to run Fallout 4 (Which I've now played two hours of the start menu on!!!) It works fine to begin with and then crashed during the new game loading screen, and a message comes up stating: 'Intel HD intergrated grpahics - windows 8 has stopped working but has fully recovered'. if this means anything?

Make sure you've plugged the cord in the expansion slot and not the motherboard GPU.

Yea i really recommend you revert your windows back to Windows 7 and see if it runs just fine. Windows 10 is known to have a few hiccups with games..

Did you do a clean install of windows 10 followed by driver updates?

i've yet to see one "hiccup"

as mentioned most broken stuff is fixable with driver reinstallations. the upgrade process to win10 is not flawless, i personally recommend a windows reinstall
