Password Strength
Why must steam judge my password strength, and require it to be what it deems "strong?" I have a password that I use for everything and never forget and I want to use it so why can't I???

Valve care abut you and your account and dont want you to make something that will be too easy for a broth fource bot to pass likely

If Steam is blocking you from using it, i highly recommend you find a better password for things
Also using the same one is a pretty big risk, as if someone gets your password by getting a site you are on that did not encrypt its passwords as needed they will have access to all your things

Thanks now I know you use the same password for all yhour services. I hijack one, I now own everything about you online.

Please enjoy as I change your online persona, hijack every account you hold dear, while your inventory isn't exactly earth shattering hey I can probably make a few cents off of selling everything you own. Oh and your email and facebook are now mine. Maybe your linked in too? Twitter? Anything else? Oh you have Xbox LIve? Yep that's now mine too.

If you don't treat your online passwords like actual security dont complain when you're compromised.

How can you complain about this? I love the fact Steam allows/enforces users to create *strong* passwords... Quite frankly I think it should be law that services which hold crucial information allow and enforce users to use secure passwords... It annoys me so much when certain services don't allow us to use numbers, special characters, capitals, password can't be longer than 16 characters etc...

I know the risk, and it's MY risk to take, not anyone elses.

Except that it'll becomes a problem for others once your stellar security fails.

No, it's also in Valve's interest to keep your account as secure as they can. Which reduces headache for them. And if I'm not totally wrong, it's also their legal obligation to do so since they store payment information. At the very least it's fineable by the credit institutes.

Also, if someone finds out your password and "hacks" your account, you wouldn't say "Oh well, probably my own fault. *shrug*", but blame them.

Small merchants are prime targets for data thieves. It’s your job to protect cardholder data at the point-of-sale.

If cardholder data is stolen – and it’s your fault – you could incur fines, penalties, even termination of the right to accept payment cards!

well if you put your account at risk, and then a scammer uses your account to cheat more pepole or even phish them, then its other risks as well

also support tickets that will have even more load, meaning longer support for all users

Your risk becomes a burden on Steam and others when you get hijacked.

Someone apparently never read rule one of personal security. Anoyone who's even read half a faq would be able to tell you answered your own question.

And this... pretty much this. Steam does not need anymore lazy fools cluttering up th support system.

Usar la misma clave para todo, no es nada recomendable.
The 5 seconds it takes to mess up all your accounts:
Each time you create an account somewhere, you literally hand out your other accounts and email.

Well done..... well done.

Instead:
Use something like keepass to have strong and various passwords while only need to remember one.
